45:5

and in the alternation of night and day, in the sustenance that Allah sends down from heaven with which He revives the earth after its death and in the changing of the winds, there are signs for those who use their common sense.
Meaning:-
Sustenance: food and drink regarded as a source of strength; nourishment.

45:8

Who hears the verses of Allah recited to him, then persists arrogantly as if he had not heard them. So give him tidings of a painful punishment.
Meaning:-
Persist: continue, remain, keep on
Arrogant: self-important, proud in an unpleasant, revealing an exaggerated sense of one’s own importance or abilities.

45:9

And when something of Our Verses (this Quran) come to his knowledge, he takes them as a joke; for all such people there will be a humiliating punishment.

45:10

Beyond them there lies hell, and nothing of what they have earned in this world will be of any benefit to them, nor those whom they have taken as their protectors besides Allah, and they shall have grievous punishment.
Meaning:-
Grievous: grave, very serious or severe.

45:12

It is Allah Who has subjected the sea to you, so that ships may sail upon it by His command, and that you may seek His bounty and be grateful to Him.
Meaning:-
Bounty: generosity; liberality, a monetary gift or reward.

45:15

Whosoever does a good deed, it is for his ownself, and whosoever does evil, it is against (his ownself). Then to your Lord you will be made to return.

45:16

And We did certainly give the Children of Israel the Scripture and judgement and prophethood, and We provided them with good things and preferred them over the worlds.

45:17

And We gave them clear proofs of the matter [of religion]. And they did not differ except after knowledge had come to them – out of jealous animosity between themselves. Indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.

45:19

Surely they shall not avail you in the least against Allah; and surely the unjust are friends of each other, and Allah is the guardian of those who guard (against evil).

45:21

Or do those who earn evil deeds think that We shall hold them equal with those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, in their present life and after their death? Worst is the judgement that they make.
Meaning:-
Monotheism: the doctrine or belief that there is only one God.
Righteous: (of a person or conduct) morally right or justifiable; virtuous, very good; excellent.

45:22

Allah has created the heavens and the earth to manifest the truth, and to reward each soul according to its deeds, and none of them shall be wronged.
Meaning:-
Manifest: to make clear or obvious to the eye or mind or the understanding; show plainly

45:23

Have you considered the case of such an individual who has made his own desires as his god, and Allah having knowledge let him go astray, and sealed his hearing and heart and drew a veil over his sight? Who is there to guide him after Allah has withdrawn His guidance? Will you not learn a lesson?
Meaning:-
Astray: into error, away from the correct path or direction
Veil: cover, shield.

45:24

The disbelievers say: “There is nothing but the life of this world? We live and die; nothing but time destroys us.” In fact, they have no knowledge concerning this. They are only assuming..

45:25

And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, their argument is only that they say, “Bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful.”

45:26

O Prophet tell them: “It is Allah Who gives you life and later causes you to die; then it is He Who will gather you all on the Day of Resurrection, about which there is no doubt, yet most people do not understand.”

45:27

And Allah’s is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; and on the day when the hour shall come to pass, on that day shall they perish who say false things.

45:28

You shall see every nation on its knees. Every nation shall be summoned to its book of record, and Allah will say: “Today you shall be rewarded for your deeds.

45:31

But as to those who disbelieved, Allah will say: “Were My verses not recited to you? But you showed arrogance and became a people of criminals”.
Meaning:-
Arrogant: self-important, proud in an unpleasant, revealing an exaggerated sense of one’s own importance or abilities.

45:32

When it was said, “the promise of Allah is true and the Hour of Judgement is sure to come. You used to say, `We don’t know what the Hour of Judgement is: we think it is just a conjecture, we are not convinced.'”
Meaning:-
Conjecture: assumption, guesswork.

45:33

Then the evil of their deeds will become manifest to them, and they will be completely encircled by that which they used to mock at.
Meaning:-
Manifest: to make clear or obvious to the eye or mind or the understanding; show plainly
Mock: to laugh at someone, often by copying them in a funny but unkind way, make fun of

45:34

It will be said: “Today We will forget you as you forgot the meeting of this Day of yours! Hellfire will be your home and none will be there to help you.

45:35

This is because you used to take Allah’s revelations (this Quran) as a joke and you let the worldly life deceive you.” Therefore, on this Day neither they shall be taken out of hell, nor shall they be given a chance for amending their ways to please their Lord.
Meaning:-
Amending: rectify, to modify, rephrase, make better; improve.
